Experience the Thrill of Glacier Paddleboarding in Alaska

Glacier Paddleboarding Adventure (3.5 Hours)

Two Locations. Two Incredible Ways to Paddle on Glacial Water.

There are few experiences on earth that rival paddleboarding alongside ancient ice in the Alaskan wilderness. Alaska Helicopter Tours offers two exclusive glacier paddleboarding adventures, each reached by helicopter and led by expert outdoor guides.

Choose between serene glacier melt pools in Palmer or a striking iceberg-filled lagoon in Seward. Both experiences combine breathtaking flightseeing with true adventure, offering rare access to landscapes few will ever explore.

With your expert guide, you will start with a few invigorating jumps into the glacial lake to build confidence in the drysuit and Personal Flotation Device system. These playful plunges ensure you are prepared, even if you take an unexpected dip from your board.

Once you are comfortable and connected to your paddleboard leash, the real magic begins. Glide across shimmering turquoise waters surrounded by towering ice formations and breathtaking mountain views. Feel the serenity of this remote wilderness as you paddle to the far end of the lake and back, combining pure adventure with peaceful moments you will never forget.

This Half Day Tour Includes:

  • Experienced Guides

  • Dry Suit

  • Personal Flotation Device

  • Paddleboard

  • Paddle Micro-Spikes

  • Leash

  • Safety throw rope

Who Is This Tour For?

This adventure is open to ages 13 and older with a moderate level of fitness and the ability to tolerate cold temperatures. Knowing how to swim is recommended but not required, and no paddleboarding experience is necessary.

Expect to carry paddleboarding gear weighing about 25 lbs per board. Guests will try on drysuits at the lodge and, if possible, wear them for the entire tour. Alaska’s weather can change quickly, so come prepared for sudden temperature shifts. All necessary safety gear will be provided.

Anchorage/Palmer – Glacier Paddleboarding Adventure

(3.5 Hours)

Step into the heart of Alaska’s wild beauty on a once-in-a-lifetime Glacier Paddleboarding experience across the crystal-clear pools of the Knik Glacier. Slip into your provided drysuit and get ready for an exhilarating encounter with the glacier’s icy waters.

Seward – Glacier Lagoon Paddleboarding

(3–4 Hours)

Our Seward paddleboarding tour offers a completely different glacial environment. Instead of glacier pools, guests paddle through a stunning iceberg-filled lagoon formed by the retreat of a nearby glacier.

After departing from Seward, a scenic helicopter flight brings you to a remote glacial lagoon surrounded by mountains and floating blue ice.

Once on the water, guests glide across the calm lagoon while weaving through floating icebergs and glacial ice formations. The scale of the surrounding landscape and the vibrant colors of the ice create a dramatic and unforgettable paddling experience.

This location offers a sense of exploration and movement through the landscape, making it a perfect contrast to the stillness of the glacier pools in Palmer.
